The Best Snacks in Walt Disney World

DisneyWorld has become a food lovers paradise in recent years with alot of attention being drawn to their snack options around the various parks. Gone are the days of eating a burger and fries at a theme park. Over my two week trip at all four parks I tried as many of the weird and wonderful snacks on offer and have created my list of the must try foods at Walt DisneyWorld.

I Lava You Float

Park: Magic Kingdom (Adventureland)

Restaurant: Sunshine Tree Terrace

The I Lava You Float is served out of Sunshine Tree Terrace which sits close to the entrance to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. This location is one of the only places on Disney property to get orange dole whip and items can be mobile ordered to save long queues. The I Lava You float consists of a strawberry Fanta base covered with orange dole whip, passion fruit syrup and popping candy rocks. It was tangy and refreshing and exactly what you need to help cool down on a busy hot park day!

Mickey Cinnamon Roll

Park: Animal Kingdom (Discovery Island)

Restaurant: Creature Comforts

The colossal Mickey Cinnamon Roll is a huge breakfast option served at the Starbucks location within Animal Kingdom. The roll consists of one large roll and two smaller rolls that make up the iconic Mickey Mouse shape. The pastry is soft and loaded with plenty of cinnamon sugar and a generous helping of icing on the top. The roll is plenty big enough for two people to share and was absolutely delicious.

Night Blossom

Park: Animal Kingdom (Pandora)

Restaurant: Pongu Pongu

The Night Blossom is an iced drink associated with the land of Pandora within Animal Kingdom. It is a frozen layered drink that mixes together apple and desert pear flavoured limeade and is topped with a generous helping of passion fruit flavoured boba balls. It is very sweet and is perfect to help cool you down. The bright contrasting colours making up the layers and the addition of the boba balls make this drink look alien which perfectly matches the theming of Pandora.tand out

Wookie Cookie

Park: Hollywood Studios

Restaurant: Backlot Express

The Wookie Cookie is a Star Wars themed treat served out of the Backlot Express quick service restaurant located right next to the Star Tours ride. It consists of a light creamy frosting, sandwiched between two huge soft baked oat cookies, decorated with a chocolate strip that is themed to look like Chewbacca's belt. This was the perfect treat and was plenty big enough to share! It was soft, full of flavour and the balance of the cookies and the frosting meant it wasn't too sweet!

Sully Slushy

Park: Magic Kingdom (Tomorrowland)

Restaurant: Cosmic Rays Starlight Diner

The Sully Slushy is a bright blue raspberry flavoured frozen drink with patches of purple cream dotted around the cup to imitate sully's fur. This was a great snack and perfect to help cool down on a very hot day in the parks. My only hesitation with this was that it depended which cast member made the drink as to whether it actually looked like Sully, mine did but others were not so fortunate.

Mickey Beignets

Park: Port Orleans French Quarter Resort

Restaurant: Scat Cats Cafe

The Mickey shaped beignets were at the top of my must try list for this trip. Mine came in a serving of three fluffy Mickey Mouse shaped beignets with a choice of dipping sauce. Unfortunately they are located outside of the theme parks but are still on Disney property at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. The beignets were light and fluffy with plenty of powdered sugar on top and are served warm. They come in two serving sizes (3 and 5) and a sundae option that includes 3 beignets and a choice of ice cream.

Seven Dwarfs Cone (Sleepy)

Park: Magic Kingdom (Fantasyland)

Restaurant: Storybook Treats

The soft-serve cones from Storybook Treats always look amazing and taste pretty good too! The location offers limited edition cones and I imagine they all taste amazing. Whilst I was there the limited edition cone was themed after one of the seven dwarfs (Sleepy). It was a cotton-candy and vanilla swirl soft-serve, served in a waffle cone and decorated with a white chocolate belt buckle and character topper. The ice cream was delicious but did melt very quickly and so I would recommend asking a cast member for a bowl and spoon incase it melts quicker that you can eat it.

Cheeseburger Pods

Park: Animal Kingdom (Pandora)

Restaurant: Satuli Canteen

The cheeseburger pods from Satuli Canteen are infamous across the land of Pandora in Animal Kingdom. They are bao buns filled with ground beef, cheese, pickle, ketchup and mustard all mixed together to create a filling that tastes exactly like a McDonalds cheeseburger. These were a great lunch option in the park but were quite stodgy, I shared an adults portion which was one bun each and a side of vegetable chips and that was plenty for a lunch portion.

Blue Milk

Park: Hollywood Studios (Galaxy's Edge)

Restaurant: The Milk Stand

The Blue Milk at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is a frozen plant based milk drink that comes in two 'flavours' blue and green. For me the blue milk was the nicer of the two, it is described as a 'plant-based blend of Coconut and Rice Milk with alluring fruity characteristics'. I thought it tasted like a twister ice lolly that had been melted down and turned blue. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it but it was actually really tasty and refreshing!

Mickey Waffle

Park: Magic Kingdom (Liberty Square)

Restaurant: Sleepy Hollow

The Mickey waffle is a perfect option for breakfast at Magic Kingdom. This is the only location to get Mickey waffles in the parks and it comes with two options, one with powdered sugar and maple syrup and the other with a topping of strawberries and whipped cream. The waffles themselves are light and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside with a lovely buttery vanilla taste. They are served warm and are available daily until 11am.

Cheshire Cat Tail

Park: Magic Kingdom (Fantasyland)

Restaurant: Cheshire Cat Cafe

The Cheshire Cat Tail is a light and fluffy pastry twisted with chocolate chips and a custard like ribbon topped with pink and purple icing to create the appearance of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. It is a great breakfast option in Magic Kingdom and is served warm. The pastry is soft and delicious and the addition of the icing makes this treat just sweet enough without it being too sickly. This was the perfect morning snack to start off a busy day at the parks.

Croque Glacé

Park: Epcot (France Pavilion)

Restaurant: L'Artisan des Glaces

The Croque Glacé was one of my favourite snacks in the parks because it was so different to anything I had tried before! The Croque Glacé can be found in L'Artisan des Glaces located in the France Pavilion in Epcot and consists of your choice of ice cream and sauce, sandwiched between a warm brioche bun and pressed to seal the edges. The contrasting textures between the cold ice cream and the warm crispy edges and soft interior of the brioche make for such a wonderful snack that tastes delicious!
